I just realized today that I missed posting a blog in the month of March, my bad. But not much happened. Except for a bit of skiing, I turned 24, then I drove across the country from Big Sky, Montana to Table Rock basecamp, North Carolina. Big transition, and it all went really smoothly. My drive xc was 3 days, 31 hours, and my car ticked over 100k miles. So anyway I landed safely at the North Carolina Outward Bound School for what is essentially my second instructing season. Since programming didn't run in 2020 due to covid, it has been quite a few months since I have been in the field with students. I'm really excited to be back with groups in the woods facilitating (and undergoing!) such impactful experiences. Up until this point my season so far has consisted of trainings. Instructor skills, climbing, ropes course, JEDI, base camp etc. I begin pre-course for my first course in 3 days, but so far I've just been living on base with the community. I will share about my time on base so far through pictures and captions... I wish I had a few more photos from all of the trainings, but that's also one of the reasons that I love being here- because for the majority of the time the phone just isn't necessary. It's a here-and-now community, with very motivated and good-hearted people.
That's the update for now! It's a very exciting time. |
