It has been such an exciting month of travel and outdoor sports! I left Bozeman on Feb 7 with my roommate Julia. We've swung through Utah, California, and now we're in Bend, Oregon. Per my usual these days, here's a rather visual (with captions) retelling. Here is me following the challenging and sketchy pitch 4 of Schoolroom 5.6 in Little Cottonwood Canyon by SLC. Don't worry, I led the other 4 pitches, but not this one. No thank you. It was an offwidth gully essentially that my partner and I kept calling "the trough". It was a physical slog to push myself up through it. You can just barely see my white helmet poking out. After the trough, was a sketchy run out traverse. A fall on the traverse would result in a massive swing. We made it through all safe, had a great time! And we climbed 4 more pitches on different climbs afterwards. Shout out to Landon for always being down for the send. Here is Julia and I, photo from Partington Cove. She is my OB Bestie and we are having a blast on this trip. We are also so excited for the next month of transition that will land us back on basecamp at NCOBS. Shameless plug (literally zero shame because shout the heck out to creative liberty!) we started a podcast... it's called Cabin 1 Podcast and you can find it on Spotify or by clicking the link below. We talk about seasonal life, dirtbagging, outdoor sports, instructing outdoor ed, and other random things. We are also on instagram @cabin1podcast So that's the update. Can't believe my life right now, I am trying really hard to be present and enjoy the whole experience because I do know that this is a bit of a peak. Not like THE peak of life, but one of the peaks. Tryna be above treeline my whole life though if you catch my drift. Sometimes we ebb, sometimes we flow, this month... heavy flow. See ya in March.
